Indian Echo Caverns is a great place for learning and adventure. Whether a scouting group, school group or other organization we will be happy to help your activity be a success.
The multitude of beautiful formations in the caverns and the array of magnificence will amaze visitors. The history of the caverns, including the story of the Pennsylvania Hermit, William Wilson, the Mystery Box, the early explorers, and the Native Americans, are explained in detail.
The tour is 45 minutes in length. A professionally trained, interpretive guide explains the caverns' geology and history, and shows the beautiful formation of the caverns. All tours begin at the gift shop.
The temperature is a constant 52 degrees. A light wrap is recommended for those sensitive to cooler temperatures.
Cameras with flash and camcorders are permitted.
No backpacks or bags may be taken into the caverns.

We specialize in educationally interesting tours that attract thousands of school students and other groups annually. With our expansive grounds, picnic areas, petting zoo, playground and, of course, the Caverns Tours, there is always something for everyone!

SCOUT PROGRAMS
Dear Scout Leaders,
Indian Echo Caverns knows the importance of nurturing our inquisitive minds, so we partner with the Boy and Girl Scouts organizations to offer badge programs in a unique atmosphere with knowledgeable and caring instructtors who guarentee and educational and enjoyable experience.
Through hands on demonstrations, educational cavern tours, and life experiences that will expand the boys' and girls' knowledge, we help guide your Scouts to earning new badges that broaden their educational.
All Scout Programs require a minimum of 10 Scouts in addition to Leaders and family members.

Overnight Camp Adventure...For Boys and Girls
Bring your tents and set up camp in the safe, gated, well-light ground of Indian Echo Caverns with supervision.
Young campers will be thrilled to have the beautiful grounds to themselves all night when the camping adventure begins as the Cavern closes to the public. A professional, knowledgeable member of our staff will be on the property at all times. Campers will enjoy the following activities:
- Pass for a guided tour of the Caverns - can be used the following morning or at a later date
- Use of the arcade room - bring your own change
- Light evening snack
- A souvenir from our terrific gift shop
- A fire pit - with fire wood provided
- Use of the restrooms at any time
- Nocturnal sights & sounds...and things that go BUMP in the night
The Overnight Camp Adventure is available weekends, starting with Friday tent set up at 3:00 pm or later, and concluding on Saturday morning.
Cost is $40.00 per camper or scout for an exciting and fun experience!
Additional Options Are Available Upon Request...
- Bouncy-House for an hour (or more) during the evening. Please call for pricing.
- Hayride or wagon ride - $35 additional per wagon.
- Gem Mill Junction -- pan for gemstones! 2 bags for $14.00

Compare the differences between living and non-living things. Learn about animal habitats with hands-on activities and live presentations. Each Brownie receives a bag with assorted gems to pan for at our Gem Mill Junction...and they get to keep the gems found during panning!

Junior Girl Scout Programs
NEW! Animal Habitats
Explore animal habitats. Learn about endangered habitats and conservation. A fun take-home project, girls will create their own "animalk habitat" by building a birdhouse. The troop will choose a location on the Indian Echo Caverns property to hang their completed project.

Rocks ROCK!
Where better to explore the world of rocks than the beautiful natural rock formations at Indian Echo Caverns! Learn about our "rockin' rocks" with hands-on activities and live presentations. Each Brownie receives a bag with assorted gems to pan for at our Gem Mill Junction...and they get to keep the gems found during panning!.
Includes certification and an Indian Echos Badge!
